John Paul Thompson, 53, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on August 8, 2026.
John was born on September 6, 1972, in Los Angeles, California, to Deborah Morehouse. He will be remembered by his family, friends and all those who knew him.
John is survived by his daughter, MeShell Rae’; granddaughter, Teigan Rae’; sister, Lorenza (Eric) Heiter-Boots; niece, Jersey Rae’; great-niece, Emorie Rae’; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Morehouse; sister, MeShell Rae Noggle; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Doris Gibbs; and several beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life for John Thompson will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at ZCBJ Park, located at:
1494 Wildwood Park Ln.
Ely, Iowa 52227
The service is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., with the ending time to be determined.
Family members, friends and loved ones will have an opportunity to gather, share memories and honor John’s life.
