The Baker, Louisiana, community is mourning the death of 18-year-old Anireeyah Blue, who died following a shooting near East Myrtle Avenue late Friday night.
According to the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office, Blue was identified as the victim of the shooting.

Baker Police Department officers responded to the area at approximately 11:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found Blue suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment but later died from her injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.

Investigators have not established a motive for the shooting at this time. Authorities continue to work to determine what led to the incident and the circumstances surrounding Blue’s death.
