The Wisconsin Rapids community is mourning the tragic death of Jacob S. Stoflet, 16, who died following a two-vehicle crash in Saratoga, Wisconsin, on August 12, 2026.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, the crash was reported at approximately 10:13 p.m. at the intersection of 80th Street and Townline Road.
Investigators said Jacob was traveling east on Townline Road when his vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign at 80th Street. His vehicle subsequently collided with a pickup truck traveling south on 80th Street. The pickup truck was reportedly pulling a horse trailer at the time.
Jacob was the only person inside his vehicle. He suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead on August 13.
The pickup truck was reportedly driven by a 17-year-old from Pittsville. An 18-year-old woman from Marshfield and a 15-year-old girl from Pittsville were also passengers. All three were transported to Marshfield Medical Center for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately available.
