The Trenton, Ohio, community is mourning the tragic death of Mason Young, a 16-year-old boy who died after falling from a moving vehicle on Friday, August 14, 2026.
Mason was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on Saturday, August 15, at Miami Valley Hospital, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
Mason Young Dies After Vehicle Accident
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Brampton Place and Dartmouth Street in Trenton at approximately 10:30 p.m. Friday following reports that a teenager had been riding on top of a vehicle before falling off.
The Trenton Police Department said CareFlight was called to assist with the emergency response. Mason was transported to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment, but he later died from his injuries.
His death has left family, friends and members of the community grieving the loss of a young life.
Investigation Into Mason Young’s Death
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to assist Trenton police with the investigation.
Authorities are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident, including how Mason came to be riding on top of the vehicle and what led to his fall.
Police said alcohol and drugs are not considered contributing factors in the incident.
